Byron Bay Cookie Company has been baking since 1990, born at the local markets of Byron Bay. They'd grown into one of Australia's most recognised artisan food brands and were investing heavily in ecommerce to prepare for the future.
They needed a platform that could handle their growing DTC ambitions: custom filtering for a diverse product range, a bundle builder for gift packs and bulk orders, and the performance and flexibility that comes with headless architecture.
We designed and developed a custom headless solution on Shopify, giving Byron Bay Cookie the speed and flexibility to grow their direct-to-consumer channel alongside their established retail presence.
The UX was built around how people actually buy cookies online: gifting, bulk orders, personal favourites, and discovery. A custom bundle builder lets customers create their own mixed packs, and tailored filtering makes it easy to navigate by flavour, dietary requirement, or occasion.
The headless architecture means fast load times and gives the content team full control over seasonal campaigns and product launches without touching code.

Byron Bay Cookie's DTC channel now runs on headless Shopify. The bundle builder handles gift packs and bulk orders. Seasonal campaigns go live without developer involvement. The platform sits alongside their retail distribution, giving them a direct line to their customers.
