Shopify Editions is Shopify's twice-yearly product release, where it announces 150+ platform updates at once. The Summer Edition ships in late May or June and the Winter Edition ships in December. The latest is the Summer '26 Edition, released on June 17, 2026.

What recent Editions changed

Winter '26 was pitched as AI-native for developers. It added the Dev MCP server for AI coding assistants, the Shopify Catalog API for agentic shopping, Checkout Kit for web and general availability of the Shop Minis SDK. Summer '26 shipped alongside the end of Shopify Scripts on June 30, 2026, so any store still on Scripts had to move discount and shipping logic to Shopify Functions.
