Shop Pay is Shopify's accelerated checkout for returning customers. It stores a customer's email, shipping address, and payment details, enabling one-tap purchases on any Shopify store. Once a customer has used Shop Pay on one store, their details are pre-filled on every other Shopify store - which creates a network effect across Shopify's merchant base.

The conversion impact is significant. Industry data shows Shop Pay can increase checkout-to-conversion rates by up to 50 percent compared to standard guest checkout. For mobile shoppers (now 70%+ of ecommerce traffic), the friction reduction is even more meaningful.

Shop Pay also supports instalments (buy now, pay later) in select markets, adding another conversion lever.
