If you want one treadmill for most home users in the U.S., my current pick is the NordicTrack Commercial 1750. It's consistently rated among the best overall treadmills in 2026, with a 22" × 60" belt, strong motor, folding frame, and incline/decline capability. www.runnersworld.com

### 🏆 My 2026 shortlist

### Horizon Fitness 7.0 AT $1,099.99

### NordicTrack T Series 10 $1,299.99

### SOLE F63 $1,199.99

### NordicTrack T Series 16 $1,299.00

### NordicTrack Commercial 2450 $2,999.00

| Best for | Treadmill | Typical price* | |---|---|---:| | 🏆 Best overall | NordicTrack Commercial 1750 | ~$1,800-$2,500 | | 💰 Best value | Horizon 7.0 AT | ~$1,000-$1,100 | | 🏃 Best without subscription | SOLE F80 | ~$1,800 | | 💵 Best budget | NordicTrack T Series 10 | ~$1,300 | | 📱 Best for interactive classes | Peloton Tread | ~$3,300+ | | ⛰️ Best for serious incline training | NordicTrack X24/X16 | ~$2,700-$3,700 |

\*Prices fluctuate with sales.

Why I like the 1750: it gives you a genuinely full-size 22" × 60" running deck, up to 12 mph, incline/decline, folding storage, and a large interactive display. The big caveat is that the iFIT ecosystem is where much of its value comes from. www.liftranked.com

Best value: The Horizon 7.0 AT is compelling if you don't care about a giant touchscreen or subscription. It offers a 20" × 60" deck, 12 mph top speed, 15% incline, folding design, and broad Bluetooth/app connectivity. www.walkingpad.com

Best no-subscription choice: The SOLE F80 is particularly attractive for runners who just want a sturdy treadmill and don't want another monthly fitness membership. It has a 22" × 60" deck, 15% incline, and lifetime frame/motor warranty. www.soletreadmills.com

### My recommendation by budget

- Under $800: NordicTrack T 6.5 S - $800-$1,200: Horizon 7.0 AT ← my value pick - $1,200-$1,800: SOLE F80 / NordicTrack T Series 10 - $1,800-$2,500: NordicTrack Commercial 1750 ← my overall pick - $2,500+: NordicTrack X24 or Peloton, depending on whether you prioritize incline or classes

If you tell me your budget (e.g. $1,000 / $1,500 / $2,000), whether you'll walk or run, your height/weight, and whether you need it to fold, I can narrow this to the best 2-3 models for you.

For most beginners in the U.S., start with adjustable dumbbells, resistance bands, a workout mat, and an adjustable bench. This combination supports full-body strength training, requires little space, and costs far less than a large home-gym machine.

## Best starter setup

| Equipment | Why it's useful | Typical U.S. price | |---|---|---:| | Adjustable dumbbells | Squats, presses, rows, lunges, curls, and progressive resistance in one compact set | $150-$500 | | Resistance-band set | Warm-ups, mobility, assisted movements, and low-impact strength work | $20-$60 | | Exercise mat | Floor exercises, stretching, core work, and added comfort | $20-$60 | | Adjustable bench | Expands dumbbell exercises, including presses, rows, and step-ups | $150-$350 | | Jump rope | Inexpensive cardio and coordination training | $10-$30 | | Doorway pull-up bar | Upper-back and arm training; use only with a securely installed model | $30-$80 |

## Best choices by goal

- Small apartment: Resistance bands, adjustable dumbbells, and a folding bench. - General strength: Adjustable dumbbells, an adjustable bench, and a mat. - Cardio: A jump rope first; add a treadmill only if you will use it consistently. The Horizon Fitness T303 is identified as a beginner-oriented treadmill by one fitness guide. - Muscle building: Adjustable dumbbells and a sturdy bench; later add a rack, barbell, and plates. - All-in-one convenience: A cable home-gym machine can be useful, but beginners generally need only about 100-200 pounds of resistance initially.

## What to buy first

1. Resistance bands and a mat 2. Adjustable dumbbells 3. Adjustable bench 4. Jump rope or cardio equipment 5. Rack, barbell, and plates only after consistent training

Begin with bodyweight movements and focus on technique before adding weight. Avoid buying a large multi-station machine or expensive smart gym until you know which exercises and training style you will maintain consistently.
